So um... it's been a while.

God has made it clear that we are not going to adopt at this time. It is still something we hope to do someday. Part of his making this clear to us was blessing us with another biological child. Due to the point we were at in the adoption and the agency we were working with this meant we could not proceed with an adoption.

Tomorrow our little one will be 16 weeks old... and two weeks from then I am scheduled to have my gall bladder out.

I would appreciate prayers for the safety of our baby, "Melchizedek."

Good luck with the surgery and the new baby. I think it's nice that you wanted to adopt and maybe sometime in the future you'll be able to revisit the issue. Until then, have a safe surgery and get well soon.

"Melchizedek" is a very nice name, howbeit a little unusual, depending on who you are and where you live. But then, any name would be, I suppose.

Thanks for the wellwishes; I am recovering and Melchizedek is fine...

We are calling him "Melchizedek" for now but will choose a different name once we know the gender for sure.

The solution, to me is quite clear, adopt an older child. There are so many unwanted children that will never know a home or family you have no idea how cripling that is. Just approach them with authority, friendship, respect, honesty. Don't pretend to understand and don't tell them to "get over it" tell them that some things you can't ever get over, you just have to learn to live with.
